Known for its award winning, high-quality presentation and display products, Mitsubishi Electric continues its contribution to the professional display market with the release of the UD8400U installation projector model.
The latest addition to Mitsubishi Electric’s range of Dual-Lamp projectors, the UD8400U delivers outstanding images in WUXGA resolution and has been designed for operation in areas of high brightness.
Equipped with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, the UD8400U has the capacity to display a wide array of high-definition sources. Another feature is the 6500 ANSI lumen brightness which provides clear images even in areas of high ambient light. The Dual-Lamp design is the key to consistent operation, enabled by a Lamp Relay function which allows each lamp in the projector to be turned off and rested for a set period of time. This Lamp Relay function also allows users to extend lamp life and lower the total cost of operation.
“The UD8400U is a welcome addition to our Falcon series of Dual-Lamp projectors” said Stuart Baker, Senior Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Visual Information Systems division. “With its ultra-high resolution and superb brightness, the UD8400U is the perfect tool for presenting finely detailed images in large areas, such as university lecture halls, with ease”.
The UD8400U includes advanced image processing technology, developed by Mitsubishi Electric, to deliver an enhanced picture quality. The Super Resolution feature analyses blurred components of low resolution images, then estimates the high resolution data not included in the original image. It then has the ability to correct the quality accordingly, creating sharp images with excellent detail.
The projector is also equipped with Keystone and Cornerstone correction for adjusting trapezoidal and diagonal distortion. Another feature included is the Curved Surface Correction which allows images to be projected accurately onto curved or round surfaces, such as pillars. Edge Blending and Colour Matching functions allow for multiple projectors to be used to create a single large image.
Network connectivity is also included for remote monitoring and management, and the UD8400U is compatible with both Crestron® software and AMX Device Discovery. Natural Colour Matrix allows for the individual adjustment of each primary and secondary colour (R,G,B,C,M,Y). The projector can be used 360 degrees along the vertical axis, for projection onto walls, floors and ceilings. It also features an automatic self-cleaning filter and heat-pipe cooling system for extra durability, meaning less downtime for maintenance.
The UD8400U features a motorised lens shift function, powered focus and zoom, as well as optional lenses for short throw, long throw, tele-throw and rear projection.
